Updating Microsoft Operating System is pretty easy and mostly automatic. However, if you are unsure, here are some tips to help you secure your computer and keep it secure.

1. Microsoft only supports the following Operating Systems:

Windows 7

Windows Vista

Windows XP (support ends in 2014)

Windows Server 2008

Windows Server 2003 (support ends in 2015)

To verify the patch (update) status, go to update.microsoft.com . Follow the instructions on the page.

2. Visit all other software vendor’s webpages to verify your computer is running the latest versions. Many applications go overlooked. Here is a list of apps you should check for updates at least monthly

Mozilla Firefox

Adobe Flash

Adobe Reader

Java

Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI)
Stay secure by patching and updating insecure programs

Download Secunia PSI to help you verify your computer is secure!

I use this product myself on my personal computers. Running the scan is easy and very revealing. DO IT TODAY!
